Operation Stork
is a continuing program that helps uninsured Hispanic pregnant
women get the services they need during their pregnancy
and after childbirth, from transportation
to the doctor’s appointments, education about
the importance of proper prenatal care, good nutrition and
prenatal classes to regular pediatric care for their babies
and assistance to access family
planning and wellness options.

Through the program, we offer the pregnant women with:
• Affordable services and effective access to healthcare
providers without the distress of facing
the barriers that restrain them to seek timely medical
care.
• The appropriate linguistic conversion from one
language to another by actively working, when necessary,
to overcome barriers of communication embedded in cultural,
religion and other social differences when attending the
doctor’s visits.
• Baby items for the newborns. These include car seats,
diapers, clothing and other essential items.
The program began in February 2003 and as of December 2006,
we were able to show statistical results of more than 600
pregnant women served. Actually, we attend an average of
40 patients per month.
